Why I'm Running
Beaufort County is at a pivotal moment. Our communities are growing, our roads are strained, and residents are asking for a county government that is more transparent, more disciplined, and more focused on the people it serves. I’m running for County Council because District 5 deserves leadership that listens, plans ahead, and puts residents first. My goal is to ensure growth is managed responsibly, decisions are made openly, and taxpayer dollars are used wisely, so every neighborhood in our district can thrive without losing the character and quality of life that make this place home.
Meet Joshua
Joshua has built his career around solving complex problems, strengthening systems, and creating structures that serve people effectively. As a digital product owner, he leads large‑scale integration projects, manages cross‑functional teams, and ensures that technology and operations stay aligned with real‑world needs. In Beaufort County, he brings that same practical, service‑driven approach to community leadership, serving as Board President of the Malind Bluff HOA and working with neighboring communities on long‑term stewardship and connectivity efforts surrounding the Cherry Point Preserve. Through this work, he has seen firsthand how responsible growth, transparent decision‑making, and disciplined use of taxpayer dollars shape the quality of life in District 5. Joshua is running for County Council to bring thoughtful planning, open communication, and accountable leadership to the county, ensuring every neighborhood in District 5 can thrive while preserving the character that makes this place home.

People aren’t opposed to growth; they simply want it managed responsibly, with practical improvements that make our existing roadways safer and more efficient rather than costly, oversized projects that offer diminishing returns. My focus is on ensuring development strengthens our communities, protects property values, and preserves the character of the places we call home.

Across District 5, residents consistently express frustration with how difficult it can be to understand what the county is doing, why decisions are made, and how those decisions affect their neighborhoods. Too often, people feel they’re learning about major proposals only after the fact, and that erodes trust. My commitment is to restore openness and accountability by making county government more accessible, more communicative, and more responsive, so citizens are informed partners in the process, not bystanders.
